The Benefits of Honey for Skin Care

Moisturizes Skin
Honey can be used as part of a dry skin regimen because its composition is described as s humectant. A humectant is an item or substance that attracts moisture and keeps in locked inside. Using a honey-based facial mask proves beneficial to areas of skin that tend to become dry or itchy because it lends moisture to these areas. People have oily skin can benefit from honey as well; the sweetener can help your skin retain moisture and elasticity without drying it out, as some conventional facial washes may do.
Protects Against Damage
Honey is a natural antioxidant, which proves beneficial when taken internally, but it also provides protective benefits when used topically on the skin. Antioxidants can protect internal organs from a type of damage called oxidative stress, which can lead to better overall health in some cases. The Skin Care Resource Center reports that current research has determined the effectiveness of honey as a natural form of suncreen, to protect the skin from sun damage such as premature wrinkling, a condition that in some people can lead to skin cancer.
Promotes Wound Healing
On the medical side of skin care, honey as a wound dressing can help promote healing and prevent infection due to its natural antimicrobial properties. According to the New Zealand Dermatological Society, the chemical makeup of honey, largely sugars, has what is described as "high osmolality." High osmolality when referring to honey means that the sugars interact with water in such a way that microorganisms cannot develop. In addition to the osmolality of honey, when the sweetener comes in contact with wound exudates--fluids that weep from sores or ulcers--hydrogen peroxide is produced. The creation of the hydrogen peroxide can provide antibacterial benefits to ulcerated areas, which speeds healing.

Convert presentation into a video
In PowerPoint 2010, you can now save your presentation as a Windows Media Video (.wmv) file. In 2013, you can save your presentation as a MPGE4-Video (.mp4) file.
Depending on the content of your presentation, creating a video may take some time. Lengthy presentations and presentations with animations, transitions, and media content will likely take longer to create. For long videos, you can set it up so that they create overnight. That way, they’ll be ready for you the following morning.
- Create your presentation.
- (Optional) Record and add narration and timings to a slide show and Turn your mouse into a laser pointer.
- Save the presentation.
- On the File menu, click Save & Send (in version 2010) or Export (in 2013)
- Under Save & Send (or Export), click Create a video.
- To display all video quality and size options, under Create a video, click the Computer & HD Displays down arrow.
- Do one of the following:
- To create a video with very high quality, yet a large file size, click Computer & HD Displays.
- To create a video with a moderate file size and medium quality, click Internet & DVD.
- To create a video with the smallest file size, yet low quality, click Portable Devices.
TIP You'll want to test these out to see which option meets your needs.

TIP The default time spent on each slide is set to 5 seconds. To change that, to the right of Seconds to spend on each slide, click the up arrow to increase, or the down arrow to decrease the seconds.
- If you recorded and timed narration and pointer movements , click Use Recorded Timings and Narrations.
- Click Create Video.
- In the File name box, enter a file name for the video, browse for folder that will contain this file, and then click Save. You can track the progress of the video creation by looking at the status bar at the bottom of your screen. The video creation process can take up to several hours depending on the length of the video and the complexity of the presentation.
- To play your newly-created video, go to the designated folder location, and then double-click the file.
